KITRI Spotlight: Fiona Jane
Meet our creative, intelligent and simply brilliant friends who inspire KITRI in every single way.

Meet Fiona Jane, #KITRIgirl, influencer and successful DJ, whose passion and talent has taken her around the globe, DJing for some of the world’s biggest fashion brands. We sat down with Fiona to talk about how she’s turned her love for fashion and music into a successful career.
We'd love to know more about your career path so far…
I was born in Copenhagen, and have German and English roots and have lived in London for a decade now. I work as a DJ, sound designer, influencer and fashion entrepreneur. My creativity has offered glimpses of lots of potential destinies: designer, model, stylist, fashion blogger, filmmaker and creative consultant. However, I’ve found myself drawn back to the music! My sets have soundtracked parties for brands like Dior, Loewe, Emilio Pucci and Vogue, and have taken me across the globe, whether appearing at Paris Fashion Week, Cannes Film Festival or at Burning Man, intuitively connecting the dots between music, fashion and alternative culture.
Did you always know that you wanted to be a DJ?
Yes, somehow I already knew that I wanted to be a DJ when I started playing 15 years ago. In my head it was just never a real ‘career path’, so it was only 3 years ago that I started pursuing it full-time along my other creative projects, and it's been a great journey so far.

We’re really inspired by women who have turned their talent and passion into a successful career. What are your top tips for women looking to pursue a career in the music industry?
It’s very simple, get yourself out there, meet people, bookers and promoters, and be consistent. Continue to develop your skills and believe in yourself, release mixtapes to share your sounds, and always be nice to people!
How would you describe your music and DJ style?
My taste is an eclectic mix of disco, vintage groove, nu-disco, classic house, tech- and melodic house and innumerable variations on soulful, timeless party music.

Don’t ever give up on your dreams - get clarity on your goals and visualise them on a mood board. Embrace your weirdness. Don’t try to be anyone else, as they are already taken!
Who inspires you?
Creative and empowered women that dare to do multiple things and believe in possibilities.
What does your typical day look like?
My days vary a lot depending on the projects I am working on, but mostly I start my day with some kind of exercise, coffee, and with a morning mindset to plan out my day. Once I’ve done emails and other admin stuff, I focus on the music.

How would you describe your style?
My signature style typically offers a contemporary twist on vintage-inspired looks, a philosophy also presented in my DJing.

What’s your party trick?
My party trick is to wear something comfortable and sexy, take a disco nap before a DJ gig and order an espresso martini to get me started!
Finally, what’s next!
Currently I’m focusing on my Summer DJ gigs and projects in London and Ibiza, and the whole of July I will be in Mykonos where I have a residency at the luxury Belvedere Hotel. I'm planning to spend more time in my hometown Copenhagen, and will be there for fashion week where I am involved in various exciting projects, creating music for a catwalk show and doing consultancy with some of clients. My website www.fiona-jane.com should launch anytime soon, where you’ll be able to listen to my sounds and follow my stories with music and fashion!
