We spoke to KITRI Founder and Creative Director, Haeni Kim, about the inspirations behind our first bridal collection.
"Since our launch in 2017 we have had a lot of requests from our customers for non-traditional bridalwear and bridesmaid dresses. There are a lot of events surrounding the wedding these days - the engagement party, the ceremony, dinner before, brunch after. We wanted to cater to modern brides who aren’t necessarily looking for ‘the gown’ but still wanted to look and feel special without spending a fortune."
"For our first bridal capsule collection we wanted to make sure that we included a good mix of silhouettes that would suit many different types of brides and events. We loved the idea of vintage inspired-style that you could wear again after the wedding, so we looked to our best-loved silhouettes and updated them with classic bridal fabrics and details."
"I got married in 2017 in South Korea where my family are from, and in Italy where my husband’s family has a home, so I was looking for multiple outfits for all occasions. I was quite disappointed to find that there weren’t that many options available to me. The offer out there is extremely limited for brides who weren’t looking for ‘the gown’ but still wanted to look and feel special."
"Our nine-piece bridal capsule collection is still very much in the aesthetic of our mainline, which caters to modern, creative women with hard-working, feminine and playful designs for all occasions."
