Bunty: The Inspiration

The Bunty Dress was our best-selling piece from Summer 2022. But what makes it even more special, is the story behind it...

This crochet wonder is inspired by our designer Sophie’s Grandma – or more specifically, her Grandma’s blanket. Whilst Bunty worked as a NHS nurse in the 1980’s, a patient gifted her a beautiful crochet blanket.

Sophie has fond memories of the blanket when visiting her Grandma and it’s those sentiments that inspired the Bunty Dress we know and love. A sleeveless knitted midi dress in the same multicolour stripe crochet, with scoop low back for a little drama.

  

 

First launched as part of our Summer collection in 2022, she was a stead-fast #KITRIgirl fave from launch. Demand was so high that we restocked her again before the season was out.

 

Bunty wasn’t alone, she brought with her a whole crochet posse. The Marley Top and Dionne Cardigan were launched in the same blanket stripe, and the knitwear trio proved to be a favourite all season long, each having another restock of their own.  

  

 

It will come as no surprise that Bunty is back in 2023, but we have made her even better with the help of your brilliant feedback. This season the crochet holes are a little smaller, so you don’t have to worry about wearing the slip underneath. We've also improved her fit for a more flattering silhouette (you're welcome).

 

For Spring 23, we've just dropped our new Delphine Skirt and Polly Cardigan in fresh springtime hues of blue and green – and of course, red & pink. We love to mix and match the colours for a fun take on spring knitwear.
